The broad plenum meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran was held in February 2020 with the participation of members of the Central Committee and a number of party cadres. The broad meeting of the C.C. first reviewed and discussed the report of the political bureau about the most important developments in Iran and the world since the previous meeting of the C.C. and ratified it with some amendments and complementary proposals.
The broad meeting of the Central Committee of the party, in its discussions on the current critical situation of the country and the urgency and necessity to promote efforts for further cooperation of progressive and freedom-loving forces of the country in the struggle against the ruling tyranny, elected a committee to further examine the challenges and to find new practical solutions to facilitate this cooperation.
Another important topic discussed in the broad meeting of the Central Committee of the party was the necessity of preparing for, organizing, and holding the seventh congress of the Tudeh Party of Iran. The meeting supported and adopted the proposal of holding the seventh congress of the party and elected a commission for organizing and holding the congress and another commission to draft the congress documents. The broad meeting of the C.C. drew and ratified the necessary guidelines on this matter.
Also, on the eve of the centennial anniversary of the Communist Party of Iran established in 1920, the broad meeting of the party’s Central Committee adopted a statement and directed the party’s leadership to plan and implement appropriate publicity and promotional activities on this occasion.
[the Communist Party of Iran was constitutionally made illegal in 1930s and was organizationally banned and its entire leadership was arrested and imprisoned. In September 1941 they were released from prison following the fall of the pro Nazi regime of Reza Shah. The leaders of the Communist Party of Iran immediately after this established a new party under the name of Tudeh Party of Iran on 2 October 1941. The first congress of the Tudeh Party of Iran declared it as a legitimate successor of the Communist Party of Iran. A historic journey that still continues to this day.]
The final session of the broad meeting of the Central Committee heard and evaluated the activities of various branches of the party in the areas of publications, labour, women, international relations, financial, organization, and promotional-publicity activities in social media. The broad meeting of the party’s Central Committee expressed its satisfaction about the progress that has been achieved through the efforts of all the comrades and party supporters, and their dedication and tireless actions. The meeting made certain decisions to improve and expand the future activities of the party.
