29 November, International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
Today, indeed all days, the Tudeh Party of Iran stands in solidarity with the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people!
On 29 November, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people, we once again recommit ourselves to this righteous cause and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Palestine in their just struggle.
For more than 70 years, imperialist interventions and hegemonistic policies have meant that the people of the Middle East continue to suffer from the rule of dictatorial regimes, economic subjugation, and constant military conflict. The grave injustice perpetrated against the Palestinian people is a prime example of these destructive policies and interventions. They have endured enormous suffering. It is more than clear that, in recent years, the struggle of the Palestinian people and their progressive forces has been subjected to highly orchestrated plots by imperialism and, simultaneously, reactionary forces in the region.
The policies advanced by the current US Administration in delegitimising the goals of the struggle of the Palestinian people are reactionary, dangerous, and in flagrant contravention of international law. The Trump administration, in close coordination with its reactionary allies in the Middle East and Europe, has advanced policies and strategies – such as the Deal of the Century – that fundamentally aim to erase the issue of the just demands of the Palestinian people from the international agenda.
Furthermore, the Tudeh Party of Iran believes that in recent months the reactionary Arab states have now fully abandoned the noble struggle and just demands of the Palestinian people, if they ever really supported them before, and have embraced the aims and policies of the racist ultra-reactionary government of Israel and US imperialism in the region to create a new imperialist-friendly Middle East.
We are confident that the difficult struggle of the Iranian people for peace, human and democratic rights, and social justice in Iran, will meet with success and through this will contribute to the development of a Middle East free from war and militarism.
The Tudeh Party of Iran expresses its militant solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for their legitimate rights – including establishment of a sovereign independent Palestinian state within the pre-June 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
