Statement of the Tudeh Party of Iran: The terrorist operations of the criminal state of Israel once more expose the region to the risk of a full-scale war!

The Israeli government’s terrorist attacks through the explosion of pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon in recent days, which have killed dozens of people and injured thousands of Lebanese people, have once again exposed the warmongering and criminal nature of the racist state of Israel and its imperialist supporters to the judgment of world public opinion.

This terrorist operation has practically opened a new front in the “technological wars” against the Lebanese people and Hezbollah, which could have dangerous consequences for the entire region. According to official Lebanese state media, the Israeli Air Force carried out more than 100 combat raids over southern Lebanon and Beirut, killing dozens of people and wounding many civilians. In response to this terrorist operation and the bombing of Beirut and southern Lebanon, Hezbollah fired hundreds of rockets at Israeli territory.

In recent weeks, the world has also witnessed, with shock, images and videos of savage violence being perpetrated by Israeli soldiers, showing them throwing the bodies of three Palestinians from the rooftop of a residence in the occupied West Bank. These inhumane acts reportedly took place during a military operation on Thursday [19 September] in the northern West Bank town of Qabatiya. According to human rights observers, this incident is yet another example of the numerous brazen human rights violations committed by Israeli forces. Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI) movement and a member of the Palestinian Authority’s Legislative Council, described the treatment of the bodies as “barbaric” and stated that “this behaviour represents the ultimate decline and brutality of the occupying army.”

In its statement after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, the Tudeh Party of Iran announced that it believed that the goal of the racist Israeli government was to expand the war and extend it across the Middle East, and particularly to draw Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran directly into this bloody war, which would undoubtedly serve the long-term interests of imperialism in our region.

The Tudeh Party of Iran, while strongly condemning the new round of terror and criminal operations of the racist state of Israel against the Lebanese people, reiterates that it is the duty of all progressive and peace-loving forces of the countries of the region to tactfully and vigilantly avoid falling into this dangerous trap and to not allow the Middle East region to once again become the arena of another bloody war that would preserve the criminal regime of Netanyahu and his imperialist and European allies, a war the consequences of which would be catastrophic for the region.

The global peace movement can mobilise public opinion and intensify pressure on the governments of the imperialist countries to prevent the export of arms and ammunition to Israel, which are used to carry out these atrocities and war crimes. The Tudeh Party of Iran calls upon all progressive and peace-loving forces in Iran and around the world to not only condemn the criminal actions of the Israeli government in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, which clearly violate all international laws, but also make every effort to prevent the outbreak of a war in the region that would have monumentally disastrous consequences, and simultaneously impose peace upon the warmongers.
