In response to the righteous protests of the people - who are frustrated with the oppression, injustice, deprivation and the incompetence of a bunch that is the lot of the dark-minded and their liar leaders - the anti-people Velayat-e Faqih (Supreme Leadership) regime [governing] Iran once again dispatched its well-armed thugs to suppress the protests and open fire on our open-minded and noble compatriots, and through this age-old barbaric method of theirs, perhaps prolong the survival of their shameful regime.
The assassination on Friday 3 January 2020 in Baghdad, Iraq of Qasem Soleimani, the Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ (IRGC) extra-territorial Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, Head of Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah, together with several other Iranian, Iraqi, and Lebanese nationals, on the order of US President, Donald Trump, is a clear violation of both Iraqi national sovereignty and international law. Our parties condemn it unreservedly.
The theocratic regime of Velayat-e Faqih [in Iran] took a dangerous step in escalating the crisis created after the assassination of Qasem Soleimani and his companions, potentially dragging Iran into a devastating war, through its missile attack on two United States military bases in Iraq (in al-Anbar and Erbil). It should be noted that Donald Trump, the right-wing and racist President of the US, over the preceding days had crudely warned of a disproportionate military reaction to any retaliatory action taken by the Iranian regime in the context of the assassination of Soleimani, and had threatened that the US was ready to severely attack 52 strategic targets in Iran, including a number of cultural sites. The [Islamic Republic’s] response with ballistic missiles and the announcement that these attacks were launched from inside Iran's territory, give very dangerous dimensions to this [latest] misadventure by the regime.
According to global news agencies, Qasem Soleimani, the Commander of the Quds Force of the Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps [IRGC]; Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, [Head of Kataib Hezbollah and] the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces; as well as a number of Iranian, Iraqi and Lebanese [nationals] in the same convoy, were killed in an airstrike near to Baghdad airport. The assassination of Qasem Soleimani, on the order of [US] President Donald Trump, in clear violation of Iraqi national sovereignty and all international law, could undoubtedly pose deadly risks for the region.
Comrade Malakeh Mohammadi, a member of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran and a heroic fighter whose almost century-long life was spent devoted to the struggle for the ideals of the working class, is no longer among us. Comrade Malakeh was born on 5 October 1922 in a working class family. Despite the very backward and underdeveloped conditions of our society at that time, with the passion and love that Comrade Malakeh had for education, she was able to obtain her high school diploma with the support of her mother before the end of Reza Shah’s reign in 1941.
The protests of the frustrated and infuriated people of Iran in more than one hundred cities, and the violent and bloody suppression of protesters by the velayat-e faqih theocratic regime; the continuation of round-ups, arrests and detentions and prosecution of thousands of them have been widely reflected in the public opinion of Iran and the world. According to the latest estimates, in the course of these protests more than 360 people have been murdered at gun point by "the unidentified soldiers of Imam-Zaman" , nearly eight thousand have been arrested and hundreds wounded.
Ali Khamenei - the Supreme Leader of the despotic regime - while confirming [in a speech] that the rise in the price of petrol, like all other key economic-political decisions, has taken place with his agreement, has denounced as "villains" those people that have had enough of tyranny and deprivation under "Islamic rule" and has in effect ordered a bloody crackdown on the popular protests. Following Khamenei’s speech, the so-called "Reformers" in the Parliament immediately withdrew their emergency bill that had demanded petrol prices be returned to their previous level.

The opposition have alleged that electoral fraud and vote-rigging took place. The country’s Electoral Monitoring Committee announced that Evo Morales won the election with 47.1% of the votes and there was no need for a second round. Morales secured more than 40% of the electorate’s vote and there was also more than a 10% margin between him and his nearest challenger (who secured 36.5% of the vote) as stipulated under the electoral rules in Bolivia.

The pronouncements of the US administration clearly indicate that it intends to deploy every tool at its disposal to coerce the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) to submit to its hegemonic designs in the region.
The published news in recent days indicate that our nation is on the verge of a very dangerous military conflict with the Trump administration. Following the shooting down of the US surveillance drone on 19 June - a drone that according to the published reports had entered Iran’s air space - news outlets around the world reported that an attack by US military forces against Iran was called off at the last minute on Trump’s orders. Confirming this information, Trump emphasised in an interview with NBC TV station on 22 June, “I am not looking for war, and if there is, it will be obliteration like you’ve never seen before.”
Amidst the ongoing tensions between the Trump administration in the United States and the theocratic regime in Iran, the Communist Party USA/CPUSA and the Tudeh Party of Iran have exchanged analyses of these current developments. The two parties sound the alarm about the rapid and dramatic escalation of provocative statements by the U.S. administration in relation to Iran.
