Chers camarades, cher-e-s ami-e-s,
Chers camarades, cher-e-s ami-e-s,
In a statement earlier this week, the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran announced the passing away in Tehran of Comrade Dr Hashem Beni Torofi, a leading member of the Party and its Central Committee and a former political prisoner. He was an Iranian Arab from the Khuzestan and always stood true to his roots: an Iranian, an Arab and a revolutionary.
The Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran has received the shocking news of the violent suppression of the student uprising in Khartoum against the sale of the historic public buildings of the only national university in the country to private businesses tied directly or indirectly to the dictatorial and reactionary government of Al-Bashir. Privatization of public property constitutes a major element in the IMF’s prescription for under-developed and developing countries in which right-wing, reactionary regimes are in power.
The elections of the Islamic Majlis (parliament) and the Assembly of Experts [of the Leadership] in Iran wrapped up with participation of about 60% of eligible voters. The mass media affiliated with the despotic regime and security apparatus claimed the 60% participation of the people in the elections as a positive response to Khamenei’s call [to vote] and allegiance of the people with the Islamic Regime, and the pro-reform media, too, claimed the victory of the reformists in both elections.
On Friday 26th February, Iran will witness an election which has been dubbed as “crucial and important” by Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader [of the theocratic regime], as well as by all of the regime’s factions, who have deemed the people’s participation in it to be essential. The voices of this spectrum are calling on the people to take part in an “election” in which the candidates are hand-picked by the Guardian Council, and the prerequisite for the candidacy was to express full loyalty to the current political regime, i.e. the theocratic dictatorship and its macro policies.
After years of destructive sanctions which have been imposed on our nation by Western States as a result of the ill-advised policies of the Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Khamenei] and his appointees, on Saturday January 16th 2016 the negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 group were concluded and, after verification by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that Iran had fulfilled its commitments, the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and the fulfillment of the commitments of other parties to the Plan, began.
The Tudeh Party of Iran deems the escalation of the tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia to be against the interests of the people of
Iran and the region.
From "Nameh Mardom", Central Organ of the Tudeh Party of Iran No. 978, July 27, 2015
The disastrous and humiliating failure of one decade of irrational policies of the Supreme Leader of Iran in creating tensions in the region and wasting hundreds of billions of dollars of the national wealth in nuclear “enrichment” program, and rhetoric like “the resolution of the Security Council is blessing” for us, and also devastating policies such as “resistance economy” which led to the destruction of the nation’s infrastructure, grave impoverishment and destitution of tens of millions of Iranian people while the heads of the regime and the Guard Corps and their inner circle got richer and richer, will undoubtedly have dire consequences for the leaders of the regime and the future of the dictatorship rule which will be worrisome for the ruling dark-minded regime in Iran.

Tudeh Party of Iran Condemns the Continued Repression In Sudan And Calls for an Immediate End to the Regime of Censorship and Repression!
From Nameh Mardom, Central Organ of the Tudeh Party of Iran No. 964, January 12th 2015
“The contextual conditions of the growth of terrorism and Islamic extremism should be sought in the destructive and adventurous policies of imperialism in the regions, from Syria and Iraq to Lebanon, Palestine, Persian Gulf and Iran.”
Free all political prisoners in Sudan!
The Tudeh Party of Iran is appalled to learn of the continued wave of repression targeting progressive and democratic forces in Sudan and in particular leaders, cadres and activists of the Sudanese Communist Party.
